Hi! I’m Karen Nisbet, formerly a high school art teacher , now a freelance artist working in a variety of media. I do fairly large paintings, mostly portraits, theater design, jewelry, pottery, cards, collage and printmaking. It’s pretty hard to define my style as such – in the paintings you can usually identity the subject without a photorealistic look, although I have done very realistic portraits in the past.

I participate in many of the summer craft shows, and do the set decoration for at least one musical per year. My most recent set was for Working, from Shot In The Dark, produced last November.
