Doug Hook is a Northern Ontario artist who lives on St. Joseph Island near Sault Ste. Marie. He began painting at the age of five and went on to study under renowned watercolourist John Joy and Zoltan Szabo. This year marks Doug’s 42nd anniversary as a full-time painter.
Doug has paintings in corporate and private collections throughout the world including collections of William Davis, David Peterson and the late Pierre Trudeau. Among his many accomplishments, he had the honour of private audience with his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and presented him with one of his paintings, which is now part of the permanent collection of the Prince.
